April 2009, Minnesota Twins Report
taken from the inspiration I wrote a long post in our forum on playitusa.com , I did that already .. I put it here too! :)
![]() | The Twins closed April with a nice palindrome: 11-11. The records are quite happy .. I usually a hot start cools toward the end of season, but starting with a record low just breaks! : D The starters are malino parties. the surprise of last year is now sold out and we now expect all (themselves first?) to confirm the numbers last year. We hope that the departures last week are indicative of a recovery. |
The bullpen is quite revolutionized. is not so strong as in previous years. Pat will miss this season and is already in DL Crain. Nathan himself has already blown a save. Anyway I am confident in pitching staff Gardy, who has always been up to.
Twins Commercial 2009
In 2008, I have not posted much about minnesota twins , although he followed as always ALL their 162 games. (With condensed games of mlb.tv , not the whole game!)
This year I made a Twitter account to find a contact with some American fan of the Twins, so I hope to write something more.
Over the years back I had posted some advertising of the guys in Minnesota, so this year I can not withdraw! In Minneapolis are all anxiously waiting for the new ballpark, so their first commercial, which could not be dedicated to Target Field !
Hmm .. now that I think .. I know that if I want to see the Metrodome this year will be the last opportunity! : O Someone who wants to take a little holiday in the Twins Cities!?
Coach Convention 2009 - Jeremy Guthrie - Facing hitters
In the ' last episode of our radio program "baseball and music" I did a quick overview of the featured speakers at the CC2009. Now then is the time to learn a little bit, so I will talk about the very interesting speech by Jeremy Guthrie on his way to face hitters.
| As I said, Jeremy is primarily a very outgoing person and available, as well as technically prepared. And I must admit that since he enjoyed the skit to register for the intro to bem , I suddenly started to feel some sympathy for the Orioles! (The charm of a Major League pitcher is unrivaled ..) Jeremy told us that he thinks the most important thing when you're on the mountain, you know the batter is ahead. In this MLB is "relatively" easy, thanks all'eccelso scouting is done by teams, but it is essential that the battery has a shared strategy before the batter enters the box. |
Since no one believes you are holding the "absolute truth", players and coaches of the Big Leagues spend so much time talking baseball before matches. Between Pitcher and Catcher is known that (usually) there is always a great relationship, but I discovered that there is much dialogue between the pitcher! (With some exceptions, of course .. hehe ..) For example, in Race 1 of each series, at 17.30 (during the beaters bp), the pitchers have a meeting in the clubhouse to discuss about the other players that will face.
Another way is to get hitters to watch video. Jeremy usually does at 14.30 each day, while eating a giant burger in the best restaurant in the ballpark! :)
But what I can not give the technology away from the experience, attention and intelligence. It 'important fact to know how to "read" your opponent. Being able to understand what "forward" the player who is in front, * just * at the time. And maybe even have the courage to change the initial strategy on the fly. For example, who is probably far from the plate like the balls that night outside or maybe you do not feel safe with the interior. Putting away avoids having to beat, but "communicates" to the pitcher in his situation.
statistics with a mustache
And this year the MLB season is over. We expect a looong offseason, but I must say that thanks to Baseball and Music will think differently. Congratulations to the new Phillies World Champs, but congratulations to the Rays, who have a season and postseason (WS excluded) really amazing.
Between an upgrade and the other, I was nibbling through my link and I found this mini slide show on the best mustache in baseball. This year, from this point of view, the best was definitely Jason Giambi (photo below), to get out of a slump that has been used with success to the power of the mustache.
Turn the voice that for years have been taken a year statistics mlb players when they went to the box "with a mustache" and when "no mustache". Will someone confirm or deny this item?
In the meantime I've found something on the numbers of Giambi of this year: (and other photos of famous mustaches) http://www.hotstovenewyork.com/2008/07/03/giambis-mustache-the-best/
slow motion and stop motion
two video techniques that fascinate me a lot:
Slow motion:
(The beautiful drive Braniac , here in "things .. but very sloowly ..")
stop motion:
(Video produced by grazialkfedelephio. this , however, is a true masterpiece )
ps. Online is the second installment of baseball and music ! listen to it !
Baseball and music: our radio program
After several weeks of delays and various preparations, now we are finally able to go on air on Radio Play.it with our broadcast baseball. The title and the idea is to kalle: "Baseball and Music."
Curiosity and insights (and a little news) alternating with lovely songs in theme with what was just said. Each episode ends with "Deep basebal l", edited by Joe. Pure passion.
I would invite everyone to listen to this first episode, even those who do not chew baseball even a little. We have committed a mess and I would love to know what people think.

And now .. some backstage:
ready .. away! | ![]() lep director, kalle at the mic | ![]() blurring between baseball and music |
![]() preparation of the next block | ![]() debate! | ![]() enjoy yourself! |
The last photo is dedicated to connecting scheme with which we recorded the acrobatic block of Joe at 2 hours after transmission! (Unexpected: windows vista and xp locked, high electromagnetic waves, moving in progress, lack of surprise wires, transfers to and from linux .. in fact .. that damned murphy's law !)
click to enlarge I conclude this post by pasting a thought that I wrote on the forum playitusa:
I wanted to thank all the "family" playitusa especially joe for his speech "stunt", because thanks to its Slice alex gave us a great inspiration and above all for my delusions kalle baseballistici is always present.
Happy listening!
